There are few differences in the script  in the 1978 movie,

Don dies and Vijay replaces Don to get information about the gang where as in the 2006 movie,

Don kills Vijay and eventually fools everyone and escapes.

Shahrukh’s Don also follows the same plot until the climax.

It is revealed that the real Don did not die and he had faked his death. We think that Vijay has taken

Don’s place but in reality it is Don himself. He does this exchange in the hospital.
